The UPT Vector 3 V310 is a highly popular, premium skydiving container manufactured by United Parachute Technologies (UPT).
Part of the Micron/Vector 3 series, the V310 is specifically sized for smaller main and reserve canopy configurations, offering a tight, low-profile fit.
Canopy Sizing & Fit Guidelines
The V310 container is built for a compact profile, meaning packing can be tight depending on the canopy models you choose:
Standard Fit: Optimized for a 135 sq ft standard 9-cell main canopy. It easily accommodates low-bulk configurations ranging from 125 to 150 sq ft.
Maximum / Tight Fit: A 150 sq ft standard canopy (like a Sabre3 or Safire3) or a 170 sq ft low-bulk canopy (like a PD Pulse) will be a very snug fit.
Skydiver Profile: Typically sized for individuals ranging from 5’2″ to 5’5″ and weighing between 115 and 145 lbs.
Community Consensus & Packing
According to skydiving community feedback on Reddit’s r/ Skydiving, the V310 looks sleek and reduces bulk, but it can be a notoriously tight squeeze when brand new.
Putting a brand-new standard 150 canopy into a new V310 can make packing an exhausting chore.
The fabric typically stretches around the 10-year mark, making tight fits slightly more manageable.
If you prefer an easier, less stressful pack job, jumpers often suggest stepping up to the Vector V349 standard-fit container instead.
Key Features
Like all modern Vector 3 rigs, a custom or stock V310 comes equipped with premium safety and comfort features
Skyhook RSL: UPT’s industry-standard reserve deployment system.
Magnetic Riser Covers: Secure protection that prevents premature opening during free-fly maneuvers.
Ergonomic Harness: Options for hip/chest rings (articulation) and spacer foam padding for maximum comfort
