The JFX2-104 is a 104-square-foot high-performance crossbraced skydiving canopy manufactured by JYRO (formerly known as Icarus Canopies by NZ Aerosports).
It is designed as a “hassle-free” entry into crossbraced wings, offering a balance between high-performance flight and manageable handling similar to a 9-cell elliptical wing.
Key Specifications & Performance
Size & Construction: A 104 sq. ft. flat area wing utilizing a 7-cell crossbraced design. It features “Minybrid” construction where high-stress loaded ribs are made of sail fabric to maintain wing shape and increase stability.
Wing Loading: The recommended wing loading is between 1.8 and 2.8, though it can be loaded higher (up to JVX levels) for expert pilots.
Flight Characteristics: Known for predictable, soft openings that lack the typical “scary” reputation of older crossbraced designs. It provides a long recovery arc, powerful flare, and responsive harness inputs.
Target Audience: Experienced pilots transitioning from elliptical 9-cell canopies (like the Crossfire) who want increased “energy” and performance for swooping without extreme volatility.
